Peter Mark Phillips - rugby player and Queen's grandson
Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips MBE - eventing world champion

Return to Exeter People Menu

Son of Princess Ann and Captain Mark Phillips, he is the Queen's oldest grandson. Although ninth in the line for the throne, he does not have a title.

At Gordonstoun school in Scotland, the same school as attended by Prince Charles, he proved to be a natural athlete. His height and weight helped to make him into a world class rugby player, a game he developed while a student at St Luke's College, Exeter University on an education course.

He has played as a junior international for the Scottish Schools team and in 1996 toured South Africa with the full Scottish rugby team.

Peter Phillip's sister, Zara Phillips qualified at Exeter University as a physiotherapist specialising in Equine Physiotherapy. She is currently the equestrian eventing world champion and was BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2006.
